Usage of UPS power supply

1. Normal startup sequence
Due to the presence of surge current at the moment of startup in general loads, and the fact that the internal power components of UPS have a certain safe working area range, although we leave some margin when selecting components, excessive surge current can still shorten the service life of components and even cause component damage. Therefore, the damage caused by surge current should be minimized as much as possible during use.
Generally, UPS has strong impact resistance when working in bypass mode. We can take advantage of this feature and use the following methods when starting up: first send mains power to UPS to make it work in bypass mode, then turn on the loads one by one, first turn on the load with higher impact current, then turn on the load with lower impact current, and then turn on the UPS panel to make it work in inverter mode. When starting up, do not turn on all loads at the same time, and do not start up with a load.
2. Shutdown sequence
The shutdown sequence is as follows: first, turn off the loads one by one, and then turn off the UPS panel, so that the UPS is in bypass mode while the charger continues to charge the battery pack. If UPS output is required, turn off the UPS completely and then disconnect the input mains power.
3. The use of backup UPS
Backup UPS generally does not have load detection function under mains power, and only relies on input fuses for protection. If users do not pay attention to this point when using it, it is easy to carry too much load during mains power. Although the UPS may continue to work under mains power, once the mains power is abnormally switched to battery inverter operation, the UPS will shut down due to overload protection. In severe cases, it can cause UPS damage, and all of these situations can cause output interruption, bringing certain losses to users. Therefore, when using a backup UPS, special attention should be paid to not carrying too much load.
4. The use of long-lasting UPS
The long-term UPS uses an external battery pack to extend the power supply time, and the quality of the external battery directly affects the discharge time of the UPS. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the use and maintenance of batteries when using long-lasting UPS.
Due to the fact that the external battery of the long-term UPS is separate from the UPS host and connected to each other through battery connections, there is generally no problem during normal use. However, when users install or move the device, they may need to reconnect it. When connecting, the following issues should be noted:
① The voltage polarity should be correct when connecting the battery;
② Do not connect the battery to the host for now, wait for the UPS mains input to generate charging voltage before connecting. UPS should be powered on before connecting to the battery (backup long-term machines and C series machines with 6KVA or above should be connected to the battery first, otherwise they cannot be turned on).
Gitenno as a group company, Zhonghe Quansheng Company, a subsidiary of Jingtianao, has been deeply rooted in the domestic UPS uninterrupted source and new energy photovoltaic series product market for more than 20 years and has become a well-known brand. The company develops and produces multiple types and specifications of UPS models, including backup, online interactive, and online (high-frequency, power frequency), which are widely used in various fields such as household, office, medical, transportation, and industry.
